Here at PHUK we are a growing team of dance music enthusiasts. Many of us are heavily involved in the industry in our own rights; whether it be label owners, DJ’s, Producers or music journalists, we are a strong bunch with an extensive knowledge.
Here are our key members:
Lawrence Friend – Founder
Hailing from Surrey, and with 20 years of music production and djing under his belt, Lawrence is no stranger to packed dancefloors and crowd interaction. He has previously held residencies at Ministry of Sound and Pacha, and with brands such as Connected and Gifted, all under three different guises. After performing regularly as a scratch dj, Lawrence travelled the world twice under sponsorship from Skyy Vodka, which has collectively helped shape his unique sound & style today.
Being an audio soundtrack producer as well as a web, graphic and animated designer actively working within the movie industry, Lawrence likes to keep his finger on the pulse of all things audio & video. He uses his knowledge of the industry and passion for tech house and techno to utilise the Public House UK platform and bring you the biggest tracks of the moment.
Marcus Day (Dmarco) – Content Manager
Producer, DJ, and one of the original founders of the label ‘Arcko Digital’. Dmarco has a history of releases and remixes on various labels, gaining support from artists such as Mark Knight, ATFC, Andi Durrant, Omid 16bit and many more. DJing across the London and various other countries, in 2010 Dmarco won Thailand’s famous Full Moon Party – New Years Eve DJ competition.
Marcus is a valuable member of the PHUK team. With his vast knowledge of music and production, as well as his endless connections, he works hard to keep everything fresh from reviews, interviews and events.
Danny Cook – Reviewer
Danny has been DJing since the age of seventeen and plays a style high energy, underground Tech house. While at university he became involved with promoters which led to several bookings at some of Portsmouth’s underground dance events. You can now find him playing regularly at venues across Essex and London for Arcko Digital, Locker Room Records and several other underground house promotions. Danny is looking forward to working with these labels and Public House UK to help develop the brands further into London’s dance music scene.
