Bontan – Mind Dimension EP

Here’s something released a couple of days ago on the cat-loving label Suara, by Bontan. It’s a two-track EP which is heavily bassline driven.

The first track is entitled ‘Reality’ which has a male talking vocal that is expertly chopped up and laid over a deep and warpy bassline and sketchy drums. As all of Bontan’s tracks, it’s very well produced with loads of mini breakdowns and drops, stabs and extra little effects. The second track is called ‘State Of Mind’ as is very much like the first track, as in it has a deep and warpy bassline and male talking vocal, but this vocal tells more of a story.

Both tracks are worthy of a dancefloor and even sitting here now, my head is bouncing listening to them!

Ramiro Lopez – Chunky Cattish EP

Here’s something new out on the legendary Suara Music. A three part EP from Ramiro Lopez called Chunky Cattish. Now, I am a huge fan of Ramiro’s work and find that his productions always go down well in any mainroom tech set I play, and this EP is no different, it is awesome!

For a change, I’m not going to go through the three tracks individually as to give them the real credit they deserve you’ll need to listen to them on a decent set of speakers. They all consist of amazing bassline grooves and big bouncy tech drums. This is possibly my favourite EP so far this year, and that is a big thing for me to say! Have a listen..

Affkt ft Thomas Gandey – Lost In Process EP

Here’s something new out on Suara, now this is a label I’ve had my eye on for a long time and have written countless reviews for as they are continuously bringing out tracks that just seem to do it for me, this release is no different!

This time round they have a great four-track EP from Affkt featuring Thomas Gandey. There is the title track with remixes from Cristoph & Wehbba and another track called ‘The Boss’. All tracks have a real deep, eerie feeling, the original of ‘Lost In Process’ has a lovely little hook which carries the track so well. The remixes show great variation and add different ‘genius’ elements. This EP is an all-round weapon!

I’m very impressed with this release and can’t wait to play it out! Out now exclusive to Beatport, check it out..

Zenbi & Jerome Robins – Abyssinian

Something fresh out on Suara Records, and part of the twenty track release called ‘Kitties Go Deep Vol. 4′. As soon as I was sent this whole release, I burnt it onto cd’s and put it straight in the car, I knew it was going to be good! It would take a long time to review every track individually and believe me if I had the time then I would because it’s a great compilation from the label, however, I don’t have the time so I picked my favourite and decided to review that! Here it is..

My favourite track is Abyssinian by Zenbi & Jerome Robins. Now I’m not too familiar with Zenbi but I am very familiar with Jerome Robins’ work. This one seems to be completely different from his usual style but together, they have nailed the sound. They have used some amazing chord stabs, big vocals and a huge sub-bass in this with some great drops and builds. This one gets cranked up in the car!

This is available now, have a listen to the rest of the compilation too, you won’t be disappointed.
