Cor Caroli – All Night Long EP

Another release from the Arcko Digital label, and what an absolute whopper it is too! This is a massive two-track EP from Arcko regular ‘Cor Caroli’ hailing from sunny Espanol.

Track one is called ‘All Night Long’ and is a lovely disco infused tech-house banger. A definite feel good tune! Loads of filtering, drum fills, funky wah guitars, and a completely infectious rolling bassline. I think this one is going straight into my next set, I can’t wait to see a crowd reaction on this!

The second track on the EP is called ‘Whatsup’ and is a lot more underground. This features a huge bassy synth stab throughout with a deep bumpy bass pattern, all laid perfectly under some nice sketchy tech drums. Really loving the arrangement of this, everything seems to kick in and drop out perfectly.

So all in all, it’s a massive thumbs up from me. You’d be mental to pass up on this EP. It’s out now so why are you still reading this? Go get it….

20Blood – Hey You EP

Locker Room Records are proud to present their eagerly awaited debut release, in the form of 20blood’s “Hey You EP”

Hey You is grooving tech house roller with nicely anticipated build up that drops into a bouncy rhythm with a subtle side chaining vocal and sharp synth played on top. It has some superb fx and fills to keep you moving throughout.

Second track on the debut EP release is ‘Common Sense’. It is a track I will certainly be dropping in my set’s this summer.. I really like the Groove on the bassline, it complimented really well with the kit & this track has a more prominent vocal layered on top. An all round head bopper and foot mover.

With a cracking Label debut EP already receiving support from Riva Starr, Chris Fortier & Myself plus some solid forthcoming releases, Locker Room Records is one to keep an eye on for the future!

Le Visiteur – Time To Jack

We were sent this little gem recently, something fresh from ‘Le Visiteur’ on Deep Motion. So if you are a fan of your old skool sounds then this is definitely for you. The producer makes great use of some big piano chords that filter nicely before a lovely sub-bass kicks in under them to fill the track out. The break-down is awesome, a nice punchy bass riff with some claps and a chopped vocal over the top.

A great, feel good house track and a sure hit on the dancefloors. Keep your eye on Public House UK in the future for more stuff from Le Visiteur. Grab your copy on Traxsource now…

Preview: Slideback & Philippe B – Do It

Forthcoming on the legendary Canadian label ‘Jungle Funk Recordings’ is this main room house banger by Slideback & Philippe B called ‘Do It’. This isn’t usually the sort’ve track I’d go for these days as I have gone down a slightly more tech and techno vibe with my own productions, but this one really stood out to me! Upon hearing the main old skool riff on this, it instantly put me back a few years and I imagined being back on the dancefloor in Pacha, London with my hands in the air, absolutely ‘aving it!

I quite literally love everything about this tune if I’m honest! it’s happy, upbeat and so well produced. I particularly like the vocal, I’m sure I’ve heard it in something else fairly recently too 😉

Not quite sure on the release date yet but I will keep you posted. Have a listen, if you love a bit of old skool and some uptempo mainroom house, then this is for you! Enjoy…

Duplo & Zumbador, East Pagan ft Cotry – Silence

This is a track that was sent to us recently from D2 Records. Quite a big release as there is an original and four remixes, and all have their own unique spin and style but incorporate an amazing, infectious female vocal! I mean seriously, this vocal is awesome!

The original mix has some deep blip sounds alongside nice pads and eerie bass stabs, all perfectly married together with some deep drum patterns. It has a very chilled yet old progressive vibe to it but sounds so good!

The first remix up is by Natema and is a very bassline driven deep house remix. I can instantly imagine this going off in a club! I love the breakdown, slow build and huge drop into the bass pattern, all before the drums come back in; WOW, what a remix!! The second remix is by Anton Ishutin, now this one is quite a laid back version with a stabby 80’s feel bass pattern, nice pads and great use of the vocal, goosebumps! The third remix is by Juloboy, he has taken the original bass riff and blips and toughened them up slightly. Keeping the nice airy pads along with the vocal, and some great use of the sidechain! Finally, the last remix is by Fabricio Pecanha. He has taken the track even deeper with a lovely deep and bumpy acid bass sound. I absolutely love the breakdown where it consists of just the bass, arpeggiated blips and a chopped vocal, all before a nice build into a simple drum pattern. Works so well!

If I was to pick a favourite I’d have to say it’s the Natema remix. Absolutely huge release for D2 Records and getting huge support already, I hope this blows up! Pick up your copy now…

Dee Montero – Full Body

From Dee’s heady days as resident at Belfast’s legendary Network club, to residencies at the rather more exotic Amnesia, Pacha, Space and Café Mambo in Ibiza, Dee Montero has been whipping dancefloors into a frenzy across the globe for more than 15 years.

‘Full body’ is Dee Montero’s latest Tech House groover. Signed & Released this week to Nic Fanciulli’s ‘Saved Records’, this is a track you will need in your playlist this summer.

With a warm and dark breakdown layered with the vocal ‘Everyday I’m gonna Die’ it drops into a superb grooving bass with the vocal chopped and delayed industrial synth rolling on top.
The track has two very nice drops that don’t leave you anticipating too long, before your ready to hit back into the groove!

With G-Man on the remix, it is a very pleasant and up beat Techno track. With some very nice effects on the vocals & great delays, it gives the track a constant flow and progression.
Can’t go wrong with either of these tracks really, it all depends on the time of the set and the mood of the crowd, but will definitely be a body mover!

Simeon Belle & Silvo Leeroy – Want More Culture EP

The Boys are back and have teamed up again to bring you their latest EP ‘Want more Culture’.

Two very nice Deep House rollers.. Track One titled ‘Want More’ has a seriously good female vocal sample that is chopped and grooving throughout the track. This sits nicely on the hook providing a dark but pleasant dancefloor mover..

Track Two titled ‘Culture’ has a slightly more upbeat groove in A minor with another cool vocal that I imagine clubbers will absorb subconsciously on the night!

Simeon and Silvo are producing some top tracks this year, so I suggest you keep an eye on them!

Sonny Fodera & Cervendos ft Lauren Faith – High

After an Epic year of constant up-rise for Sonny Fodera with his long list of events & big release alongside Cervandos – ‘Let it go’. We now have the production duo back as Sonny Fodera and Cervendos bring you ‘High’

In this latest Collaboration we hear the beautiful vocals from Lauren Faith, certainly a voice I would like to hear more of in the future for the house scene. Now, you may have had the opportunity to hear Sonny play this at some of the superb Defected nights we’ve had the pleasure of witnessing, so if your wondering what’s going to be rocking your arenas this summer, I sense this will definitely be one of them.

Also if your feeling the vibe and you want to check out Sonny’s label, have a look for Beatdown Music, where you will certainly find some secret weapons!

Ramiro Lopez – Chunky Cattish EP

Here’s something new out on the legendary Suara Music. A three part EP from Ramiro Lopez called Chunky Cattish. Now, I am a huge fan of Ramiro’s work and find that his productions always go down well in any mainroom tech set I play, and this EP is no different, it is awesome!

For a change, I’m not going to go through the three tracks individually as to give them the real credit they deserve you’ll need to listen to them on a decent set of speakers. They all consist of amazing bassline grooves and big bouncy tech drums. This is possibly my favourite EP so far this year, and that is a big thing for me to say! Have a listen..

Interview: Night Safari (D Ramirez & Bnann Infadel)

Over the past 12 months, production duo Night Safari have perfected their innovative future house sound and produced several dancefloor weapons. Their latest release ‘Won’t Let Me Down’ featuring the vocals of Beth Aggett is a true to form summer anthem, while a remix from tech-house master D. Ramirez rounds things off nicely. Following the release and ahead of summer we caught up with the duo to find out the latest…
Hey guys! What has the past few months seen you doing?

We’ve been really busy! We’ve just finished a remix for Axtone for Hard Rock Sofa, as well as finishing our last release for Tactical Records in Germany.

You’ve just dropped ‘Won’t Let Me Down’ on Zulu Records which is your second release on the label. How do you find working with the guys over there?

Yeah, we love them, they’re really on it, and more importantly they seem to like the noise we’re making too.

What has the reaction been both on and off the dancefloor?

The D. Ramirez remix has been getting a fantastic reaction on the dancefloor and the original mix has been getting a fantastic reaction on the blogs so we’re very happy with it so far!

Is there a story behind the release?

There is yeah… we were all drunk one night in a pub and we knew Beth Aggett but we’d never heard her sing. Then she got up on the piano that was in the pub and started to sing and we were like wow you need to come and sing with us as the sound of her voice was truly incredible. Then a couple of weeks later she came down to the studio and the song was born.

Outside Night Safari you’re both busy do your own thing in the industry, how do you juggle the various projects you’ve got going on?

We have no idea but time is the most valuable commodity.

You must always have ideas for new tracks spinning around in your heads, how do you get yourselves organised?

Organisation is the enemy of creativity so we are never organised, we just get in a room and see what happens.

Do you always agree on how things are put together in the studio?

As we both come from different worlds it can be a sound clash in the mind, that’s what gives us our edge we think.

What was the first single you ever brought?

Dean: Queen – Another One Bites The Dust

Bnann: Adam And The Ants – Prince Charming

What’s this summer looking like for you guys?

The summer is going to be crazy because we’re going to be doing our first DJ gigs and maybe even trying to get a live thing up and running so it’s going to be really interesting.

And finally, what else should we be keeping an eye out for from Night Safari?

We’ve just signed a single to Armada so there’s a release coming in June which we’re very excited about, so keep an eye out for that. It features James Newman on vocals who is the brother of John Newman so it’s very exciting for us.

Preview: Groovetonic & Olivian DJ, SOLLORS – Tekknology EP, Vol. 3

Forthcoming on the new, more underground sister label of Jungle Funk, called Jungle Tekk Recordings, is this amazing tech/techno EP. Consisting of two tracks by different artists, and both completely different too; we’ll start with the first track..

Produced by Groovetonic & Olivian DJ is this track called ‘Beat’. It kicks off with some big sketchy tech drums before a nice little drum fill before this big deep bassline groove. It builds really nicely with new sounds coming in continuously, then breaks down and re-builds with a big long riser and loads of cowbell!! Then bang, it smashes straight back into the bass groove. Such a high energy track, I cannot wait to play this in a main room gig and watch the energetic reaction, great tune. The second track on this EP is by Sollors, and is called ‘Oprah’. This track couldn’t be any more different from the first on the EP. Kicking off with some big techno drums and a simple repetitive piano chord, then in comes the famous Oprah Winfrey Lifeclass vocal from one of her ‘Taking Responsibility Of Your Life’ speeches, very cleverly cut up. Throughout the track these is some really nice percussion including little bongo fills which give the track a nice identity. This is definitely one for the deeper techno heads, absolute choon! Not sure of the release date yet but keep your eyes peeled, and your ear to the ground as it’s gonna be big..
