Gotsome – Bassline (Chocolate Puma Remix)

There are so many different mixes of this track and Defected have even released a whole remix package, I am going to focus solely on the Chocolate Puma remix. I loved the original of this track and if you missed it then you should go & check it out, Chocolate Puma have added this stomping bassline into this version that definitely gets me going. This has main room house written all over it and guaranteed to get the hands in the air. I can’t wait to drop this at one of my gigs.

Sixteenofive – Platform Vol. 17

Well here’s a tasty four-track release from huge label 1605. This is a label that is absolutely havin’ it at the moment with an army of powerful releases behind them. Lets go through these four tracks individually..

Groovebox & Electronic Empire – Puff Puff Pass – This is a main room tech house track with a nice choppy vocal sat over some big techy hats and a nice bass riff. The track breaks down nicely to just a kick and the vocal with a riser before the big drop, love it!

Xell & Howid – Glost – This builds nicely from the start, has a huge sub bass riff and a constant stabby synth throughout. Really long rising build up with loads of snares and fills then dropping back into the bassline. Nice!

Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N. – Champion Sound – I love the little vocal in this, and it’s been expertly chopped up. Nice big sub bass after the drop which sits under some big techy drums too, great tune.

Hazzaro – Rock It – Strong drums from the start, into a filtered bass and rising into an electro sounding riff with fusion of male and female vocal snippets. This has a real old skool retro feel to it and although different, is awesome!

Alex Marcu – El Pou

Having done reviews for previous tracks on the Family Grooves label, I’m always excited when new tracks are released by them. Family Grooves is a label that caters for loads of different styles of house music and I can honestly say that I love pretty much everything they’ve brought out, this release is no exception to that. This time round Alex Marcu has the track called ‘El Pou’ which also has a tasty remix by Stefano Crabuzza. The original is a great bouncy house tune with a nice pan-pipe style riff, complimented nicely with some really old computer blip sounds. Reading that back, it sounds a bit mad but it’s so difficult to describe as there’s so much to talk about. I don’t know how this track works, but it does! Absolutely amazing tune. The remix is a lot darker with some very deep sub-like bass. A very simple version with loads kicking in and dropping out. Personally, the original is the version for me! Great release, Family Grooves have done it again! Good times..

Jason Chance & Michelle Weeks – My House

I always look forward to new releases from Jason Chance, last year he had an amazing year of releases both independently and teaming up with the likes of My Digital Enemy and Kevin Andrews (Hoxton Whores). This time around he has released this banging main room house track with the brilliant vocal talents of Michelle Weeks. Along with the original mix, there are remixes by Mike Newman and Tikki Tembo. The original is huge! Massive build up into a big blippy main room drop. This high energy mix is guaranteed to get the dancefloor going mad, hear it for yourself and tell me if I’m wrong! The Mike Newman remix is more of a dub mix as it features more beats and bass than vocal, very nice flowing bass pattern with some big building synths, love it. The Tikki Tembo remix is completely different, it has some simple 80’s sounding drums with some quirky little synths and effects throughout. A great remix! Check these out and get ’em in the gig bag!

Black Loops – Simplon EP

Released on Gruuv is this nice four-track EP from Black Loops, it consists of three originals and a remix of the title track. The first track (and title track) is ‘Simplon’, it’s a nice bouncy deep house tune with a warpy stab bassline pattern, some real old skool sounds and effects make this track stand out. The second is a tune called ‘Cabron’, this feels slightly darker than the first. It has a big deep stab bassline pattern sat nicely under some pitched down dark vocal, very well produced and contains a load of elements. The third track is ‘Up On You’, upon hearing the bassline for the first time it instantly reminds me of the old 4×4 garage days as it’s deep and slightly warpy, if only it had the garage style shuffle drums too, it’d be just like the old days! Finally the fourth track is a remix of ‘Simplon’ by ‘Sidney Charles’. Sidney is no stranger to big tunes at the moment and I have even reviewed a couple of his productions on this website previously. Wow, what a remix! He has really made this big. Some lovely hats and big synths sat over a bumpy old skool bass riff… Hooj choon!

Gary Caos & Andrea Martini – Your Love

This is a nice upbeat main room tech house track out on Casa Rossa. A big summery sound with a great vocal which has been expertly chopped up and laid over some nice techy drums and a deep bass pattern which gets slightly bigger after the drop. Highly recommend this for any outdoor summer party or on a beach during a hot day, alternatively in any club main room if you’re in the UK and the sun is nowhere to be seen! Check this..

Terrence Parker – When Loves The Feeling

Here’s one for the classic piano house lovers! Produced by Terrence Parker who is an absolute legend in the Detroit house scene and has been since the mid-80’s! This release features an original mix as well as a remix from Lenny RX & Kenny Summit, lets talk about the original first; this track has an absolutely addictive piano riff and a highly sung vocal sitting nicely over some classic house drums, beautiful! The remix is slightly more upbeat! Using the same piano riff and vocal, but this time sitting over some bigger sounding drums but without losing that classic aged sound. Laying underneath those elements is a great punchy bassline which really gives the track some bounce. I test drove this track on my radio show last weekend and got a great reaction from listeners. Released on GFY Black Label. 🙂

Simion – Warning / Jack Your Body

Released on OFF Recordings is this two-part deep house release from Simion. The first track is ‘Warning’ which has an amazing deep bassline groove sitting under a great little vocal hook. Breaks down to almost nothing before the vocal kicks in then drops into that awesome bassline again, love this! The next track is ‘Jack Ur Body’ which is a lovely bouncy banger! It has a nice top end pluck sound to the bass rhythm which really goes well. Loads of breakdowns and builds in this, awesome track.

Kevin Andrews & Jason Chance – Krin

Released as a part of Toolroom’s Miami 2014 collection, Jason Chance & Kevin Andrews (Hoxton Whores) bring you this main room tech house slammer. I gotta say, this style of house music is one of my favourites. I am a big fan of high end plucky synth rhythms and this track gives you that with a slight oriental feel to it too. Absolutely love the breakdown with some repetitive vocals which sound like tribal kids having a sing song!, then a nice snare build before a huge bouncy bassline drop complimented nicely with high end plucky stabs 🙂

Vlada Asanin, Jose Sosa & Yas Cepeda – Starter EP

The name ‘Vlada Asanin’ is a name that appears on this website again and again, I am a keen follower of his work! This time he’s unleashed two new tracks on RockIt Records. The first track is called ‘Up And Down’ and he has teamed up with Yas Cepeda. Lovely bouncy tech track with a great cut up vocal looped over the top. As per usual he has mixed this up with a huge deep flowing bass riff which turns this tune into a main room stomper. The second track is called ‘Pussy Cat’ and is co-produced by Jose Sosa. This has a similar style to the previous track with a big deep bassline and choppy vocals but this has some extra snares and fills added in for flavour! All round a great two-track release and guaranteed to get the crowd going.

R.O.N.N. (aka Ron Carroll) & Emilio Hernandez – Do I Believe In God?

Ron Carroll has been one of my favourite producers for a long time and for this release he has teamed up with Emilio Hernandez. There’s two parts to this one, the original being a big techy dancefloor smasher with a brilliant funky yet soulful breakdown. I particularly love the funky guitar riff and the vocal in the breakdown before a big riser and bassline drop! Huge tune! The next track is a remix from Fred Pellichero & MJFA, this version isn’t as full on and techy as the original but instead has an electro style twist with a big rising build before an almighty drop. Both tracks are worthy of any main room and are definitely worth a spin. Released on Vamos Music..
